One of the interesting creatures out there is the Red Eyed Tree Frog. They have sticky pads on their feet that allow them to stay balanced and in place. They can leap very far and fast so they have swift movements. They are very different in color than other types of frogs and that is part of what makes them so interesting to people.

The body of the Red Eyed Tree Frog offers various colors. This includes green, yellow, blue, and orange. They have red eyes of course, and that is where their name comes from. They can be up to 2 inches for the males and up to 3 inches for the females. The young are brown in color and they will develop other colors as they get older. It is possible for them to change their pigments too in order to blend in well with their environment.

The belly of the Red Eyed Tree Frog is soft but the top of the body is very rough. They have very large eyes, and even though they only have two eyes they have three eyelids. They have long legs that are bright red in color, yellow or green. They use their eyes as a type of defense because most predators won't come too close to them due to the appearance. The coloration of them will confuse the predator, giving the frog time to get away.

They live in the rainforest of Central America. They are found living in the trees and very seldom are they on the ground. They are found around Mexico, and they love tropical regions with warm water. They live very close to the water and they don't live in saltwater.

Mating can occur around three years of age. Males will shake branches in the trees to be able to get the attention of the females. Once mating has occurred the female will lay the eggs in the water. Small tadpoles will emerge from them in a matter of days.
